Oklahoma football's elite John Mateer protector gets green light vs. Mississippi State

Oklahoma’s offensive line gets a boost for its Week 8 game against Mississippi State, with left tackle Michael Fasusi cleared to return to protect quarterback John Mateer. Fasusi, a sophomore, has been sidelined since leaving the Sooners’ 51-0 season-opening win over UTEP with a right shoulder injury. The injury first occurred during fall camp, and he played only part of the first quarter against the Miners. He practiced throughout the week but remained questionable and was not on the final SEC availability report. On3’s Pete Nakos reported Saturday on X that Fasusi would be available after earlier updating that the tackle was a game-time decision.
