Olivia Miles topped Caitlin Clark’s WNBA rookie season points record on Sunday during Minnesota’s game against the Connecticut Sun in Uncasville, Conn. Miles entered the contest tied with Clark at 769 points and took the lead in the second quarter when she converted a free throw. The Lynx rookie arrived averaging 19.7 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds, and was a major contributor to Minnesota’s position with the best record in the league. Drafted second overall after playing at Notre Dame and TCU, Miles started slowly, scoring nothing in the first quarter before finding her rhythm in the second. Her record-breaking shot came 29 seconds into the period.
