Ontario iGaming sets record $7.1 billion handle in July

Ontario’s regulated iGaming market set a July record, with players wagering CAD 9.88 billion (US$7.1 billion) over 31 days, according to iGaming Ontario. The total was nearly CAD 300 million above the previous record of CAD 9.59 billion set in March and was 31% higher than July 2025. Operators generated CAD 413.6 million (US$297.1 million) in gross gaming revenue (GGR), the second-highest monthly figure on record and up 33% year over year. Ontario’s 20% tax rate produced about CAD 83 million in tax revenue. Monthly active player accounts also reached a record approaching 1.37 million. Online casino dominated, with casino handle at CAD 8.78 billion and casino GGR at a record CAD 330.4 million.
