Romeo Beckham to make acting debut in queer tennis film 'Forty Love'
Romeo Beckham, the son of retired footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, is set to debut as an actor in the tennis-themed romantic drama “Forty Love.” Directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, who is making his feature debut as a fashion photographer, the French film also stars Guillaume Canet and acting legend Catherine Deneuve. Variety reports that the story centers on a tennis star on the verge of winning a major trophy in Paris, whose championship hopes are challenged by a charismatic newcomer played by Beckham. The official synopsis frames the conflict as love arriving as a destabilizing force beyond what the character experiences on court. The film is currently in post-production and is expected in cinemas on 25 November. Beckham, 23, previously shifted between football and tennis before leaving both sports in 2024 to pursue fashion, and he was recently fined after a Porsche 911 incident involving phone use while driving.
