SBU Sports: Football erases 18-point deficit, falls 41-34 in Dover

Stony Brook’s football team rallied from a 31-13 third-quarter deficit and twice tied the game at 34-34, but ultimately fell 41-34 to Delaware State on Aug. 27 at Alumni Stadium in Dover. The Seawolves opened with a 5-yard rush by Hester and a 6-yard carry, then went three-and-out after an early pass by Boyd. Delaware State built a 17-6 lead by late in the second quarter, later extending to 24-6 with a 16-yard touchdown run after a forced fumble. Stony Brook closed the half with a 10-yard rushing touchdown by Boyd. After Delaware State made it 30-13, Stony Brook kept fighting, including tying at 34-34 with 11 minutes left.
