Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson still figuring it out in Browns QB battle

In Berea, coach Todd Monken says the Cleveland Browns aren’t making a quarterback decision yet in the competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. Prior to practice on Day 4 of training camp, Monken said he is not evaluating the quarterbacks “to that extreme” during installation work, noting that the team will compete more meaningfully once full installs against other units are in pads later. He expects the installation period to run through the first eight practices, with an Aug. 2 day off and then six straight days of practice that finish Aug. 6. That schedule leaves five full practices ahead of the preseason opener Aug. 15 at the Chicago Bears. Sanders, running the No. 1 offense for his second time, said every rep matters for building trust. Both quarterbacks completed a full practice with the first group during the fourth full-squad session, while offensive line spots rotated between Dawand Jones and Spencer Fano at left tackle, and Teven Jenkins and KT Leveston at right guard. Watson said managing the rhythm is challenging when sharing reps.
