Socceroos wonderkid Lucas Herrington set for Premier League after record-breaking bid

Hull City has reportedly lodged a record-breaking offer for Socceroos teenager Lucas Herrington, setting up potential Premier League interest in the 18-year-old defender. According to Rudy Galetti, Hull’s bid is worth $35 million and is being negotiated by Herrington’s club, Colorado Rapids. The deal could also include a 15% sell-on clause. If completed, Herrington would become Australia’s most expensive player, eclipsing Harry Souttar’s $27m move to Leicester City in 2023. Herrington has six caps for Australia and has already been a World Cup record breaker, becoming the youngest Socceroos player to feature at the tournament.
