Terron Armstead reveals he 'had to get a little tough' on Dolphins OL
Terron Armstead’s comments highlight how the Miami Dolphins’ offensive line development has been shaped by his early push for Patrick Paul to earn respect. Miami selected Paul with the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft after the 2023 season ended 11-6 and a 26-7 wild-card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Paul arrived as a swing tackle, paired at left with Armstead and on the right with Austin Jackson, and played 337 total offensive snaps as a rookie while filling in for the starters. Armstead said he had to be “a little tough” on Paul when training camp began after offseason absences. With Armstead retiring the following offseason, Paul took over as the starting left tackle and improved last year. Entering 2026, Paul faces a key proving opportunity for Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan.
