The Tartan Army donates to Massachusetts students in need following World Cup visit. Scottish soccer fans known as the “Tartan Army” donated $15,000 to Mass Child, a Massachusetts Teachers Association charity supporting students facing economic hardship. The funds were directed by organizer Mike Teevan, who said transportation changes in Boston followed the failure of an original bus supplier and produced substantial savings, which were then allocated to local charities. Teevan pointed to the lasting images of Scotland supporters traveling to Gillette Stadium on school bus fleets as a reason to help local students. Mass Child grants are used for items including clothing, school supplies, books, and health necessities across the state. Massachusetts Teachers Association President Max Page thanked the fans for the support they showed during the World Cup visit.
