Top 25: Miami holds steady at No. 1, Georgia moves up to No. 2 in new rankings

Miami holds steady at No. 1 in the new AP Top 25 College Football Rankings released Sunday, with Georgia moving up to No. 2. Utah is No. 3 and Notre Dame remains No. 4 after the latest update. The rankings carry clear postseason stakes: the top four teams earn first-round byes in the College Football Playoffs, while the five highest-ranked conference champions qualify, including the Power Four and one Group of Six school. The remaining spots go to the next-highest-ranked teams, with Notre Dame a possible at-large if it finishes in the top 12 on Dec. 6. The SEC would have four teams, followed by the Big Ten with three.
