Trout on 'needed' sale of Angels: It's a 'fresh start'

Mike Trout said Arte Moreno’s sale of the Los Angeles Angels to Stan Kroenke “doesn’t change” his desire to stay with the franchise for the rest of his contract. Trout spoke Tuesday hours after news broke that Kroenke, owner of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, bought the Angels. Trout described the change as a “fresh start,” adding that he’s looking forward to restoring a winning culture in the clubhouse. Kroenke’s winning record includes two Super Bowl appearances with the Rams since returning to Los Angeles in 2016, plus championships across other sports: two Stanley Cups, an NBA title, an MLS Cup and a Premier League trophy. Forbes estimates Kroenke’s net worth at $24.3 billion. Trout is signed through 2030.
