UCF football to explore adding the 'right' fifth-year guys, Scott Frost says

UCF is weighing roster options after a July 31 injunction allowed athletes who graduated high school in 2022 to receive an additional fifth year of eligibility. The ruling, issued by Judge Charlotte Sweeney in the U.S. District Court of Colorado, does not change existing NCAA transfer rules, roster limits, or revenue-sharing totals. UCF coach Scott Frost said Aug. 3 the Knights are “exploring options” to upgrade the roster, while acknowledging it’s still early to know what any changes could mean. Sweeney clarified that if a roster is full, a player cannot join regardless of the injunction, and programs can’t exceed their revenue-sharing totals to bring in such players. Potentially affected players include Cole Kozlowski, Phillip Dunnam, and Nyjalik Kelly, though Kelly is in training camp with the Green Bay Packers.
