Washington football makes top three for four-star DT ahead of pledge
Washington’s recruiting push for the Class of 2027 defensive line is centered on an expected announcement from top unranked target Sam LeJeune, as the Huskies vie for a commitment on Wednesday, June 24. The four-star defensive tackle, rated No. 119 overall and No. 11 defensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite, will choose among California, Florida State, and Washington at 3:30 p.m. PT. LeJeune, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound prospect from Poplarville High School in Mississippi, took an official visit to Cal on June 5 and visited Seattle on June 8, before Florida State’s final contact on June 12. Coach Mike Norvell’s staff is viewed as the heavy favorite, with multiple crystal balls favoring the Seminoles. Washington’s late surge followed an offer extended in mid-May. If it lands, LeJeune would join a defensive-front group that includes Jon Ioane, Tevita Nonu, Chaz Gray, and Matamatagi Uiagalelei in 2027.
