Watt Named Lead Analyst For 'NFL On CBS'
CBS Sports announcer J.J. Watt was named lead analyst for NFL ON CBS in a new multi-year deal, with David Berson of Global Sports Group, Skydance, making the announcement. Watt will continue calling CBS’s top NFL games alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson, including next season’s Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta. The article notes the move comes after CBS and Tony Romo parted ways earlier in the month; Romo was arrested in Milwaukee on July 23 during a traffic stop and initially was placed on leave before the network ended its relationship. Watt joined CBS Sports in 2023 as a studio analyst on The NFL Today, moved to game calling with Ian Eagle and Evan Washburn last season, and began working with Nantz and Wolfson at the start of 2026. Watt played 12 NFL seasons, finishing with 114.5 sacks.
