World Cup 2026: FIFA provides special services for visually impaired fans
World Cup 2026 is set to expand matchday accessibility after FIFA announced specialized services for blind and low-vision fans at the tournament. FIFA says expanded audio-descriptive commentary (ADC) and haptic boards will help supporters follow key on-field details without relying on companions or standard broadcasts. FIFA will provide ADC in English and French for matches in Canada, and in English and Spanish for games hosted in the United States and Mexico, accessible through the “FIFA Audio Description” app on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Haptic boards will be distributed at select matches in Dallas (Texas), New York/New Jersey, Seattle (Washington), and Vancouver (British Columbia). The program also includes trained venue staff for sensory needs, accessibility passes, mobility assistance, and sign-language interpretation for all matches.
