AMD Navi GPU Owners Can Now Pinpoint Hot VRAM Chips Individually via HWiNFO

HWiNFO v8.51 pre-release adds a long-requested diagnostic upgrade for AMD Radeon Navi GPUs: per-chip GDDR6 VRAM temperature monitoring across the RX 5000 through RX 9000 series. Until now, most tools show only a single aggregate “VRAM temperature,” which actually reflects the hottest memory chip at that moment, not an average. With per-package readings, owners can tell whether a localized cooling issue (e.g., a mis-seated or aged thermal pad) is affecting one chip versus a broader thermal problem. The feature appears in the v8.51 branch, while the current stable release stays at v8.50 (July 8, 2026).
