xCruzo Brief
Elpidio Reyna, a 42-year-old man from California, was sentenced to three years in federal prison after being filmed throwing large rocks at immigration enforcement officers during anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles last summer. Reyna pleaded guilty to assault on a federal officer using deadly or dangerous force. Prosecutors said he attacked Customs and Border Protection vehicles while wearing a motorcycle helmet; one rock shattered a window and cut an officer’s forehead. Reyna had been part of a mob that formed while CBP and ICE agents were searching a Home Depot in Paramount. Prosecutors sought 46 months. His lawyer urged time served, citing damage to his property and an unresolved dog search.
