Apple iPhone 18 Pro secrets leaked in Tata Electronics hack: What we know - British Caribbean News
Apple iPhone 18 Pro secrets leaked in a Tata Electronics hack highlights the risks in smartphone supply chains as confidential component data surfaced after a ransomware incident. Hackers stole more than 630 gigabytes of documents from Tata Electronics, described as one of Apple’s key suppliers in India, and released them, including parts details, supplier information, and photos tied to the iPhone 18 Pro. Reports cited the ransomware group World Leaks as the source, publishing over 200,000 files on June 12 on its dark web leak site, according to Reuters. Tata Electronics confirmed the breach and said it is conducting a forensic investigation. The leak reveals which suppliers compete for specific contracts and could expose where Apple may be vulnerable among vendors. Paolo Pescatore of PP Foresight said the incident likely required a foothold inside the organization or compromised credentials, underlining that cybersecurity is only as strong as the weakest link in the chain.
