Apple Plans Major Updates to iPad Pro and MacBook Pro for 2027. It's Not Enough to Reignite Growth.
Apple is preparing major refreshes for iPad Pro and MacBook Pro in 2027, but the update cycle may not be enough to restart growth momentum. In the first half of 2027, the company is expected to launch an updated iPad Pro lineup and a redesigned entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, with iPad Pro changes focused mainly on internal upgrades. The timing follows Apple’s strong fiscal 2026 performance, including record Q2 revenue of $111.2 billion, up 17% year over year, driven by heavy iPhone 17 demand. Apple also reported diluted EPS of $2.01, up 22% and ahead of expectations. Profitability improved as gross margin rose to 49.3% and operating margin to 32.3%, while operating cash flow reached $82.63 billion. However, with AAPL’s valuation at 37.32 times trailing Non-GAAP earnings and 10.11 times trailing sales, investors may demand more than incremental product polish.
