Apple’s new M6 MacBook Pro is available now, but reports suggest it may not satisfy buyers waiting for a bigger redesign. The base-model laptop keeps the same design as the previous generation and its primary change is the M6 processor, replacing earlier M5 hardware. Rumors cited by BGR indicate Apple could skip M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, focusing instead on an M7 generation expected later in 2027. Still, BGR says an OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro could appear this Wednesday, potentially with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The M6 model includes a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core, plus a dual 16-core Neural Engine, 24-hour battery life, and up to 170GB/s memory bandwidth.
