A new experiment suggests that, in this hiring market, resumes written entirely by humans are getting more employer attention than those generated completely by AI. Kickresume tested more than 200 resumes sent between April and June 2026, splitting them evenly between AI-generated versions and resumes written exclusively by people. “Positive responses” included interview requests, phone and video screening invites, favorable email replies, or assessments to complete. The strongest results came from human-written resumes, with 31% producing positive responses. Fully AI-written resumes were the weakest, at 10% without human editing. Experts point to the value of specific, measurable details and an individual story.
