Arizona Diamondbacks News 10/20: The World Series is set

A recap of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2026 season and postseason context frames the World Series as already set. The D-backs content notes that Arizona struggled to hit right-handed pitching, and had limited production from left-handed bats aside from Corbin Carroll. It also references their efforts to address that gap through internal and external options that didn’t fully solve the issue. The page then surveys discussion around trading second baseman Ketel Marte, including contract context: last winter he had a five-team no-trade list (A’s, Cardinals, Giants, Pirates and Yankees) and his 2027 salary was $14MM, with a $3MM buyout tied to a $13MM club option for 2028. Separately, MLB notes the Rays advanced to the World Series with a 7-3 Game 6 win over the Guardians in the ALCS to face the Brewers.
