AT&T settlement payments begin soon. Who will receive up to $7,500?
Payments from AT&T’s $177 million class-action settlement are expected to begin before the end of 2026 and start again in early 2027, after a federal judge granted final approval earlier this month. The Dallas-based telecom reached the deal following two 2024 data breaches that exposed sensitive information of millions of customers. Eligible claimants could receive up to $5,000 for losses tied to the first breach and up to $2,500 for the second, while claimants without supporting documentation are expected to receive much less—estimated between $6.50 and $40. Court records show nearly 5 million claim forms submitted as of Aug. 24, 2026. The first breach involved 73 million customers’ names, birth dates, and Social Security Numbers; the second exposed call and text records.
