Brewers linked to Twins' 2.85 ERA All-Star ace as 'dream match' at trade deadline
The Brewers are being linked to Twins ace Joe Ryan as a potential “dream match” target for the August 3 trade deadline. ESPN’s Jeff Passan said Milwaukee could use another top starting pitcher alongside Kyle Harrison and Jacob Misiorowski, especially given injury issues involving Brandon Woodruff and Logan Henderson. Ryan, a right-hander with a 2.85 ERA for Minnesota in 19 starts, has posted 2.5 bWAR and 122 strikeouts in 104.1 innings. Passan’s rationale is that Ryan could provide more rotation stability and his control runs through the 2027 season. If acquired, the Brewers’ projected staff would be strong enough to contend with top postseason-caliber pitching, while offering advantages versus weaker opponents. However, with the Twins near a playoff position, moving Ryan may be difficult.
