Dad reveals clever hack to feed family of five for cheap at Chick-fil-A: 'It's like it's 2018 again'
A viral “hack” is circulating on social media showing how a dad claims he fed a family of five at Chick-fil-A for under $45. Jeff Johnson, a podcast host, posted an Instagram video that has received more than 200,000 views, describing an approach he said keeps a bill below that threshold. Instead of ordering five full chicken-sandwich meals, he said the group ordered 30 nuggets for $17 and buttered buns priced at 25 cents each to assemble “sandwiches,” along with side sauces and drinks. He estimated that a traditional order for each member—sandwich, fries, and a drink—would cost more than $55. The video was also shared on X by @CrystalHope1979, reaching almost 3 million views. The comments referenced how it felt “like it’s 2018 again,” and also discussed a prior outcry over Chick-fil-A’s waffle fry recipe change. In March, the chain reportedly removed pea starch from the fries after criticism.
