Daughters of 9/11 victims seek justice, answers about accused mastermind's stalled trial

Two women who lost their fathers in the Sept. 11 attacks say they still need answers as the man accused of masterminding the plots has yet to be brought to justice. Elizabeth Miller, a 6-year-old when her father, New York City firefighter Douglas Miller, died in the burning World Trade Center, and Jessica Trant, whose father Daniel Trant died on the 104th floor of the North Tower, have become friends in seeking accountability for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. A documentary titled “Daughters of 9/11” follows their search for closure. Mohammed confessed to planning and executing the attacks while imprisoned at Guantanamo, but a military court ruled in August that parts of his interrogation would be inadmissible due to torture concerns. The trial is slated to begin at Guantanamo in 2028.
