El-Sayed hits Rogers on GOP convention appearance in new online game
Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is using a retro online video game to mock his Republican opponent, former Rep. Mike Rogers, over Rogers’ appearance at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas. The game opens with “COME HOME, MIKE,” showing Rogers’ face on a cartoon character standing on a boat, with instructions to “drag Mike’s yacht” through a water maze starting in Cape Coral, Fla., to reach a football field in Michigan and then the Dallas convention event. Roadblocks pose questions about prescription drug prices, while one “yes” option is never actually available. El-Sayed and Rogers are also trading blows over football, and other Republicans in competitive Senate races are said to be skipping the convention amid factors including President Trump’s approval slump, the Iran war, and Democrats’ gains in the generic congressional ballot.
