Ella Langley Says One Decision Changed Her Life Forever -- and She'll Never Go Back
Ella Langley says a single style decision—cutting her bangs right before a performance—changed her career trajectory permanently. On This Past Weekend With Theo Von, she recalled removing a cowboy hat because wind bothered her, then liking how her fringe framed her face. Just 20 minutes before going on stage, she decided to cut her bangs further, but called the result “so bad.” The timing was especially difficult because she was scheduled to shoot cover art for her debut album as well. After debating what to do, Langley told her hairstylist to “full send it with the bangs.” She linked the look to major breakthroughs, starting with the Riley Green duet “You Look Like You Love Me,” followed by her record‑breaking “Choosin’ Texas.” Langley also discussed current touring dates after releasing her sophomore album Dandelion in April, with the first leg ending Aug. 15 in Fort Worth and additional shows running through October, including a Halloween show in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Chart-wise, “Choosin’ Texas” is four-times Platinum and spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a first for country and one of only five tracks without any male artists. It also led Hot Country Songs for at least 30 weeks; meanwhile, “Be Her” and “I Can’t Love You Anymore” are in the Hot 100 top 10.
