xCruzo Brief
A 52-year-old man in Rhyl, Mark Coulston of Maes Y Don Drive, was fined and given penalty points on his birthday at Mold Magistrates Court for a prior speeding offense. Prosecutor Alun Williams told the court that North Wales Police monitored the A5151 at Trelawnyd, Flintshire, on Aug. 3 of the previous year, when Coulston was clocked driving a Land Rover at 49 mph in a 40 mph zone. Coulston, who represented himself, said he saw “it went to a 40” and that he had been towing a trailer. He told the court his income comes from benefits. The court awarded no costs, but imposed a £40 fine plus a £16 victim surcharge and three penalty points.
