How will Siri AI improve my Apple Watch?
Siri on Apple Watch is set to redefine wrist-based computing by enabling open-ended conversations and context-aware responses. Announced at WWDC 26, watchOS 27 introduces this capability, with compatibility limited to Apple Watch Series 9 or newer, potentially accelerating the platform's ecosystem. From a user perspective, Siri will access personal data across devices to fetch information such as passport numbers, door codes or saved workout notes when available, delivering a more integrated experience. It can perform actions in apps, like sharing flight details or updating activity goals, without requiring manual taps on the watch. Apple is also launching a dedicated Siri app on watchOS 27, offering a unified conversation hub that syncs with iPhone and Mac. A new dynamic app grid surfaces frequently used apps and Siri suggestions, placing the Siri app at the center to streamline access. Beyond personal context, Siri can pull real-time online information, such as schedules or wellness tips, to assist daily routines. However, the update reduces backward compatibility by excluding older models like the original Watch Ultra and Watch SE 2 from support.
