Introducing ChatGPT Work, powered by GPT-5.6 - ChannelX
OpenAI announced ChatGPT Work, a new agent within ChatGPT designed to take action across users’ apps and files and stay with complex projects for hours. Work is powered by GPT-5.6, described as the model family behind OpenAI’s Sol, Terra, and Luna offerings, with Codex integrated for teams building coding and knowledge-work outputs. OpenAI says ChatGPT Work can gather context from chosen apps, files, and workflows, producing completed materials such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and web apps. Alongside Work, OpenAI is introducing a ChatGPT desktop app that brings Chat, Work, and Codex together, with Work positioned for multi-step tasks. The rollout starts globally, with Chat, Work, and Codex on desktop for Mac and Windows reaching all users, including the Free tier, while web and mobile availability begins for Pro, Enterprise, and Edu. Plus and Business are set to follow over the next few days, continuing over the next 24 hours toward full availability.
