IPhone Duo vs iPhone 18 Pro: Which $1,000-Plus iPhone Should You Buy?

Apple’s iPhone lineup for late 2026 adds two $1,000-plus models with a major split in design. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 for 256GB, while the iPhone Duo costs $1,999 for the same storage. Both run Apple’s A20 Pro chip and offer configurations from 256GB up to 2TB. iPhone 18 Pro uses a 6.3-inch body with Face ID and a telephoto lens; the iPhone Duo folds open to a 7.6-inch screen and unlocks via Touch ID on a 5.4-inch closed size. Apple rates video playback at up to 36 hours on the Pro’s eSIM-only model versus up to 44 hours on the Duo’s outer display. Cameras differ sharply: Pro gets a variable aperture main camera and a dedicated telephoto lens, while Duo relies on a fixed f/1.6 sensor with a cropped 2x telephoto and up to 10x digital zoom. Pre-orders begin September 12 for the Pro and October 16 for the Duo, with availability in more than 70 countries starting October 23 and expanding October 30.
