Mistral Robotics Chief Seeks $231 Million to Out-Data Physical AI Rivals
xCruzo Brief
Mistral Robotics’ chief is reportedly preparing to leave Mistral AI’s Paris lab to launch an independent startup and is seeking about €200 million (roughly $231 million) in early-stage funding, according to Sifted. The proposed raise would be among the largest founding-stage bets in European “embodied AI,” aiming to build robotics AI models trained on more comprehensive data than rivals currently use. The move comes a day after Sifted reported Mistral confirmed a €3 billion (about $3.47 billion) Series D led by Samsung Electronics and backed by Nvidia, ASML and the EU’s Scaleup Fund. That round values Mistral at over €21 billion.
