Its $500 toothbrush disappeared from stores. Dyson won't fully explain why

Dyson’s newly launched CameraJet electric toothbrush, priced at $499, has reportedly vanished from shelves across multiple countries after early complaints of leaks and battery failures. Dyson introduced the product at a Paris event mere weeks before it disappeared from sale. In the US, the CameraJet began showing up in stores on September 8, but by September 9 reports surfaced about water entering the battery compartment and failures within 30 seconds. Consumer Reports’ review unit stopped working in less than 24 hours. By September 11, Numerama said Dyson stopped selling in France, and by September 15 the withdrawals had spread to the US, UK, and Singapore. Dyson says there was no recall, citing demand and supply ramp-up plus a single component issue in early batches.
