Jacob Latz gets two-out save versus A's
Jacob Latz recorded a two-out save against the Athletics after a sequence in which Daniel Palencia was tagged with a blown save and the loss. In the Tuesday game versus the Brewers, Palencia entered the sixth with a 3-1 lead and two on, but quickly allowed a run-scoring balk. He then faced additional trouble when Seiya Suzuki, looking toward the wall in Wrigley Field, misplayed a fly down the right-field line that produced a double for Andrew Vaughn. While the fielding mistake wasn’t charged to Palencia, Christian Yelich later hit a two-run homer. Since returning from the injured list, Palencia has surrendered six runs in 3 1/3 innings across four appearances, and the article notes he likely isn’t a priority pickup in mixed leagues while he’s not closing.
