Latest Android Drop connects Gemini to Find Hub, adds Keep Notes and themes to Messages

Google’s September Android “Feature Drop” adds new Gemini-related capabilities alongside several non-AI upgrades. On Android 16 and higher, users can ask Gemini to log the location of items without a tracker tag in Find Hub, with optional photos and later retrieval either by asking Gemini to recall or by checking Find Hub directly. Gemini Live also gains “Guided Vision,” designed to help locate objects in the camera frame and extract unreadable text, available through Android accessibility shortcuts and TalkBack; it supports phones from Android 9 Pie onward. The Messages app now integrates Google Keep for shared notes and adds per-thread chat themes with colored bubbles. Motion Assist becomes an official feature of Android 17, though availability remains limited.
