LeBron James and Anthony Davis to Warriors? Here's how it could happen
Golden State is weighing a path to add two future Hall of Famers this summer after Draymond Green declined a $27.6 million player option. Reports say both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are interested in joining the Bay Area, and both are represented by Klutch Sports Group, the same agency that represents Green. Green is expected to re-sign with the Warriors on a multi-year deal at a lower per-year figure if Golden State pulls off the moves. The Warriors, coming off a 37–45 season and a play-in exit after an injury-riddled year, are seeking a fifth title with coach Steve Kerr. For James, the proposed fit involves a major salary sacrifice and use of the non-taxpayer midlevel exception, potentially a one-year $15 million contract, while staying under the projected $165 million soft cap. Acquiring Davis would be more complex, given his $58.46 million salary for 2026–27, likely requiring a blockbuster involving Jimmy Butler’s $56.8 million and additional matching salary plus draft picks.
