Maryland Man Sentenced to 198 Months in 2023 Violent Kidnapping and Rape of Former Partner

Brandon Tyriq White, 31, of Maryland, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 198 months in federal prison for the violent kidnapping, choking, and sexual assault of his former girlfriend, prosecutors said. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro announced the sentence after White pleaded guilty on Feb. 18, 2025, to kidnapping. The judge, Amit P. Mehta, also ordered five years of supervised release and required White to register as a sex offender. Prosecutors had sought 210 months. The case stems from events in October-November 2023, when White forced his former partner into his car, drove her to Southeast D.C., bound and assaulted her, and she later escaped after a store stop and an attack captured on surveillance.
