Max Verstappen Beats 100 Go-Kart Drivers in Red Bull F1 Star's 'Max vs. 100' Challenge

Max Verstappen powered through a “Max vs. 100” go-kart challenge on Wednesday, beating 100 drivers fielded for the Red Bull event. Starting from 101st in a race against a 101-driver lineup, Verstappen climbed 64 places to 37th on the first lap. He reached the top three on lap eight and then had 22 laps to work his way forward, ultimately finishing about 35 minutes after the start. Red Bull staged the contest, using a format where competitors were eliminated and sent to the pits after Verstappen passed them. Verstappen, 28, said he wasn’t treating it as an exhibition.
