Trump adviser Sacks says AI fears driven by 'fear-mongering playbook'

Speaking by video at a Politico event in Washington, Sacks echoed Trump’s recent dismissal of calls for new federal AI regulation, calling regulation unnecessary and arguing that AI developers should be responsible for ensuring product safety. Sacks also said developers would be held “liable” if problems arise. The remarks come as alarm grows after Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned, citing concerns that AI builders believe it could “kill us all” by the end of the decade.
