Max Verstappen targets 'one of the biggest events' in 2027 as F1 calendar leaves door open

Max Verstappen is working toward a debut at the Spa 24 Hours in 2027, a move he said could fit his schedule because the Belgian endurance race does not clash with an F1 Grand Prix. The four-time Formula 1 world champion said he will try to be on the grid, speaking in Portimão where he is making his GT World Challenge Europe debut this weekend. Verstappen suggested he was pursuing a possible entry and noted his half-Belgian ties and the race’s scale. The 2027 F1 calendar he referenced places Spa on 24–27 June, with the race on 26–27, between the Portuguese GP at Portimão (18–20 June) and the British GP at Silverstone (2–4 July). His team, Verstappen Racing, qualified 15th in GT World Challenge Portimao.
