Meta Rises 4% as Muse Spark 1.3 Claims Parity With Anthropic and OpenAI

Meta Platforms shares jumped 4% to $614.57, a sharp turnaround from being down 10% year to date as of the prior close. The move follows Meta’s claim that its Muse Spark 1.3 AI model now matches performance from leading private labs, positioning the company head-to-head with OpenAI and Anthropic as well as Alphabet. Meta says Muse Spark 1.3 improves agentic and coding capabilities and is rolling out through Muse Code and the Meta Model API, with a max reasoning mode expected after additional safety testing. Meta’s AI chief Alexandr Wang called it the biggest model-performance jump so far. The company previously delivered Muse Spark 1.1 and Muse Image, with earlier launches integrated into Facebook and Instagram recommendations.
