Million passengers of 3 UK airports affected by cyber security breach

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said a cyber security incident exposed personal data of about 8.7 million customers at three UK airports it operates: Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands. The company confirmed the breach involved data such as email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration details and postcodes, tied to car park, lounge and fast track bookings and in-airport Wi‑Fi sign-ups. MAG stressed that bank and payment details were not affected, and that passenger safety and aviation security were not compromised. It added there was no operational disruption, with airport operations and customer parking services continuing normally while the group worked with cybersecurity specialists and relevant authorities.
