Violet Schappert of Saskatoon, formerly of MacNutt, died on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at age 92. She was born on a farm west of MacNutt, moved to town as a child, and was the daughter of Gustave and Alwine Andres. Violet and her husband George Schappert married on January 9, 1956, and lived on the Schappert family farm from 1956 to 2004, raising four children: Carey, Carla, Joanne, and Kevin. She worked at MacNutt’s businesses, served as librarian (appointed 1972) and kindergarten teacher’s assistant (1974), and was active in 4-H, Sunday School, and various church and community activities. In 1975 she earned a GED and later moved to Yorkton in 2006, living at Allan Bay Manor from 2012 and remaining engaged with Zion Lutheran Church and the local community.
