The AAPPS Bulletin has published a News and Views roundup spanning Asia-Pacific physics, with the longest section focused on Japan’s 2026 Young Scientist Awards from the Physical Society of Japan. Winners are selected by JPS directors after recommendations from selection committees across 19 divisions, with the maximum number of recipients per division tied to the number of talks at the society’s past three Annual Meetings. Each awardee is expected to deliver an award lecture at the next JPS Annual Meeting in March 2026. Coverage lists laureates across particle, nuclear, cosmic ray and astrophysics, and beam physics, including work ranging from heavy-quark decay predictions to dark-matter searches using ATLAS and DarkSide-50.
