xCruzo Brief
A new Associated Press–NORC Center poll found 64% of Americans believe artificial intelligence is developing “too fast,” while 27% say it is “about right” and fewer than 10% think it is moving “too slow.” Released Oct. 8, the survey also showed differences by age and party: 76% of Democrats versus 54% of Republicans share the concern, and 70% of people under 30 want the technology slowed, compared with 60% of those 60 and older. The poll arrives amid heightened fears about AI’s potential risks to humanity and calls for regulation, alongside industry’s voluntary accord with the White House. It also reported low use of AI for election information.
