Seizes 7 Domains Used By China-Linked Hackers To Target Critical Infrastructure
The U.S. Justice Department and the FBI announced Oct. 8 that they seized seven internet domains used by China-linked hackers to target critical infrastructure and other computer networks in the United States and abroad. The domains allegedly supported two hacking tools operated by cyber actors working for Integrity Technology Group, a Beijing-based cybersecurity company with Chinese state contracts. According to the Justice Department, the tools were used to find security weaknesses, gain unauthorized access, and steal information. A federal magistrate judge in Pennsylvania approved the seizure warrant on Oct. 6, directing the domains to FBI-controlled servers. The case is described as the second public disruption of Integrity Tech’s infrastructure in two years, after an FBI takedown of more than 200,000 infected devices in September 2024.
