Prince Harry’s phone hacking lawsuit against the Daily Mail’s publisher, Associated Newspapers, was dismissed in full, according to a ruling issued today by London’s High Court. The case, filed by the Duke of Sussex and six other claimants—including Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley—was heard over a three-month trial earlier this year. The presiding judge, Mr Justice Nicklin, concluded that all articles at the center of the complaints were obtained through lawful means. The ruling addressed allegations of dishonesty and unlawful conduct, including claims that the disputed reporting involved “unlawful information gathering,” which the court rejected. An Associated Newspapers spokesman said the judgment cleared the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday and dismissed all 97 allegations. The spokesman also said the defense incurred more than £50 million in legal costs and that remaining issues, including cost recovery, would be addressed.
