Seattle Seahawks 2-Time Pro Bowler Projected to Miss 53-Man Roster
Trevon Diggs, signed by the Seattle Seahawks last week, is not a lock to make the team’s initial 53-man roster, according to Mookie Alexander’s latest projection for Field Gulls. Alexander’s version keeps five cornerbacks—Devon Witherspoon, Josh Jobe, Nehemiah Pritchett, Julian Neal and Noah Igbinoghene—while listing Diggs among the projected cuts. He frames Diggs as “battling for a roster spot,” suggesting Seattle could move him to the practice squad after the preseason ends. That would be notable for a two-time Pro Bowler who previously led the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021. His tenure has been disrupted by an ACL tear in 2023 and injuries again in 2024. Alexander notes Diggs’ contract includes no signing bonus and could be released or traded without dead money. ESPN’s Brady Henderson, meanwhile, keeps Diggs but cautions he may not immediately outperform Igbinoghene or Pritchett.
