Shark Week 2026 ahead. Which Florida beach has the most shark bites?

Shark Week 2026 is set to bring renewed attention to shark activity in Florida, including which beaches recorded the most bites. The International Shark Attack File (ISAF), maintained by the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, tracks shark attacks worldwide and reported that in 2025 Florida again led U.S. cases. Of 105 shark bites recorded globally in 2025, 25 occurred in the U.S., with 11 in Florida, representing 44% of the U.S. total and 17% of worldwide unprovoked bites. ISAF also noted Florida received only global competition behind Australia, which logged 21 bites in 2025. Shark activity peaks off Florida from April through October, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, with Volusia County accounting for more than half of the state’s 2025 bites. Shark Week 2026 begins next week on the Discovery Channel.
